A little bit about us…
A while back Ethan was working from home a lot. Studying, editing, writing, and all the rest. He quickly found something was missing – there was no social accountability keeping him from watching Netflix, no friends to share small achievements with, and no one to steal lunch from. He also hated it when he had to go to the City, or the Shore, or anywhere else that isn’t the Coast because, well, he’s a Coastie.
So, he asked Tim and Nik: could we create a co-working space on the Coast?
They said yes.
Our goal is to provide an energetic working space that offers a place for community and collaboration on the Coast. We want to model a new way to do work: no hump days, no watching the clock, no Auckland traffic, and no instant coffee. We want to live for Mondays, or better yet, to live every day.
Tim is a lifelong Coastie. He has been injured playing for almost every rugby team on the Coast and if his hammy comes right you may see him donning the Silverdale colours soon. Tim takes care of everything finance for CoastLab and also backs himself to make the best flat white in the team.
Ethan is the brother of Tim and another lifelong Coastie. He is a tutor, editor and writer by trade but will also be running CoastLab’s day to day operations, so come on down and say hi when you get a chance. If not there, you will find him on the boat fishing or procrastinating at Puff Cafe.
Nik is an honorary Coastie. It only took a couple of trips up to the Coast for him to become attached. As versatile as he is affable, Nik is taking care of our wider operations. Outside of CoastLab, he works within a number of other businesses and a few more ventures on the go, but he assures us that CoastLab is his favourite.
